But with the encryption technology Carbonite uses it will give you the peace of mind to know your data is securely stored and your information remains private. With a few clicks your data can be retrieved whenever you want.
Local Data Backup-
This option is for storing your computer information either on an external hard disk or DVD. The files can be restored from a previous back up point by manually restoring files. The con of this type of backup storage is you would manually need to remember to backup your files. You may realize you have to do this but pay very little attention to following through on a regular basis.
Should anything happen to the external hard drive or DVD due to loss, accidental deletion or damage to the location it resides-you’re out of luck.
Bottom line-
Although many may not think it’s necessary to utilize both remote and local data backup storage and services, if you are serious about your business and don’t want to risk hundreds of hours and possibly hundreds or thousands of dollars trying to replicate and replace all your information, data, photos and website information, your best bet is to do both. It the most cost effective solution in the long run.
